11. Ecologically sustainable family home
Alpine Valley in the Trento region, 2008
Sustainability, whether believed or not, is much more than a phylosophical trend, rather, it’s an inescapable and terribly important necessity. If we succeed in veering from our present course quickly, we may achieve some success. Therefore, architecture adapts as well, with scenery, morfology of site locations, and the joy of the family hearth. This family home with a professional study finds its raison d’être not within trendy idiosyncracies, but rather, in its use of every-day events as its rules of existence, and in the materials where the logical order of the spaces is determined. The façades that count are to the South, because we’re all children of the sun, and it is from the sun that we draw its vital lymph.
